COVID-19 UPDATE

February 15th, 2022

After careful consideration of local cases and hospitalizations of Covid-19 the shop is now moving to a mask optional policy for fully vaccinated clients. I will continue to carefully monitor local trends of Covid-19 cases and will adjust our policy accordingly. To respect the health and concerns of all clients, I will continue to wear a mask for all services. Please feel free to share any concerns you may have with me.

Masks are now required for entry into the barber shop, as per the updated CDC guidance issued on July 27th, 2021 . The updated guidance recommends fully vaccinated individuals to wear masks indoors in areas with ‘substantial’ and ‘high’ transmission of COVID-19. At this time, Northampton County falls into that category.

- Do Not Enter without a mask on and worn properly over the nose and mouth. If you need a mask one will be provided for you, free of charge.

- If you have a medical condition preventing you from wearing a mask, special appointments are available.

- The shop will remain full service at this time. Masks must be worn properly for the duration of your appointment, with the exception of services such as shaves, facials and beard trims. I will wear a mask and face shield to perform those services.

At this time, our only priority is safety. As always, please feel free to bring any questions or concerns to my attention.

COVID-19 UPDATE

March 17, 2020

To my clients,

My top priority has always been your health and well-being, as well as that of your families and our community.

As a small business I’ve made the extremely difficult decision to close the shop for the next 2 weeks as per the strong government recommendation for the closure of all nonessential businesses in Pennsylvania. I want to give our hard working nurses, doctors and the most vulnerable members of our community their best fighting chance.

If you have an appointment scheduled from tomorrow through March 31st, I will be contacting you directly as soon as I can today. Any other updates will be through the shop’s social media pages.

Loukas’ Barber Shop was opened with the main goal of providing services to the local community and now is not the time for that to stop. If you fall into a high risk group and need assistance, I am more than happy to provide free delivery of groceries or food. Do not hesitate to reach out to me. For all my clients, I will have my shop phone with me throughout the shut down and will be available if you have any questions or concerns. (610) 428-5180

I thank you for your understanding during this very difficult time and for doing your part to stop the spread of this virus. Thank you again for your support.

COVID-19 UPDATE

March 12, 2020

To my clients,

Given the current media attention surrounding COVID-19, I wanted to make you aware of what I’m doing in the shop during this time to help keep you safe.

At the moment, Loukas’ Barber Shop is continuing with normal business hours at the shop. However, the following adjustments will be made to the house-call policy:

·         I will not be making any house-call visits to nursing homes or other long term care facilities.

·         I will also not be accepting any new house-call clients at this time.

·         In home house-calls for regular clients will continue on a case-by-case basis.

In addition to normal sanitation procedures, I also follow a cold/flu season sanitation procedure this time of year. These procedures will be updated, as necessary, to include any guidelines from the CDC, WHO, PA State Board of Barbering, local, state and federal authorities. Normal sanitation procedures and the cold/flu season sanitation procedures consist of the following:

·         The shop is properly ventilated according to code.

·         Towels are laundered after each use.

·          Tools and implements used during any services are disinfected according to PA State Board code.

·         Hand washing is performed before and after each client, and again before performing any services of the face, for example, shaves, facials or waxing.

·         All surfaces that come in contact with the client are wiped down with a Virucide after each appointment. These include all indoor and outdoor door handles, the restroom, barber chair, checkout desk, and point of sale device.

·         There is hand sanitizer in the shop, as well as a sink with soap and water in the restroom for your use.

·         This year I am taking the extra precaution of having a commercial cleaning company do a more thorough cleaning and disinfecting of the shop later this month.

This is what I am doing to keep you safe, but you can also help. If you are sick, even with the common cold, or come in contact with a person suspected of having COVID-19, please reschedule your appointment. It is a courtesy to others and also to me since there are no sick days for the self-employed. Since I am an appointment only establishment, this allows for more control over sanitation, if you arrive early please be patient.

My top priority is the health and well-being of my clients and their families, our community, as well as myself and my family. Any updates will be through the shop’s social media pages. If a need arises to change existing appointments, I will contact you directly.  As always, open communication is welcome and encouraged. If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact me directly at (610) 428-5180. If I’m not available at the time of your call, please leave a message and I will call you back.
